Hello there! Star here, creator of the webcomic with the jigsaw-puzzle plot, Kokiro! Unfortunately my web-fu is lacking, so all I can do with this page right now is type a few lines here and leave the rest of this Wiki to the lovely Mouse, its creator--for fear that I'll mess it all up, otherwise.
I'm not very interesting, but if you want to know, I'm 20 years old. I live in a little apartment in southern California, in the United States. I'm a college student going for a Bachelor's in English and a teaching credential in the same subject. I sometimes get work as an illustrator and sometimes as a tutor. When I'm not studying or working on Kokiro, I'm drawing other things (practice=improvement!), or reading, or sewing, or knitting, or making jewelry, or tending the garden, or playing videogames, or cleaning up after my little sister. I'm a taurus. I'm a vegetarian. I like playing piano, even if I'm not very good at it. I also like guitar, though it hurts my wrists and I'm even worse at it than I am at the piano. I love dogs.
I "started" Kokiro when I was about nine years old. I have a bunch of scattered drawings on lined paper to prove it, though it started out as more of an illustrated novel than a comic, and the story was loads different even if lots of the characters are the same. It was my older sister, Sunshine, who helped me to make it a webcomic. She taught me how to use the scanner and photoshop and how to get things up on the Internet. She still teaches me things. Kokiro is my first real webcomic, and certainly the only thing I've created that's lasted so long and gone so far. I'm overwhelmed by the interest it's generated (and the hits! Oh my goodness, the pagecounts!!) I owe a lot of my perseverance to people like Sunshine, who was there from the beginning and designed the first website (and then the re-design . . . and then all the extra stuff . . . and spent forever making an image map for the characters . . . and who fixes all the technical kinks, like comics that mysteriously disappear . . . ), Nessie (now The Jester), and Boolean Error, who found the site early on and made me keep going, seelcudoom for keeping it real, Gray-Seraphim for the encouragement and the hardcore-awesome fanart, BlkKnight for making the Project Wonderful ads work, for free, and then writing the whole Drunk Duck site, again for free, just because I was so helpless (thanks man!!), and there's more but this is staring to sound like Academy Awards speech, so you know who you are and I love you. (And yes, Breezy, you're my biggest fan and favorite sounding board.)
And of course dear Mouse, who is probably equal only to Sunshine in terms of time put in making Kokiro awesome (and fast continuing, if the amount of articles on this wiki are anything to go by! Goodness, girl, you're a machine!!)
Kokiro certainly isn't the most professional thing, but everyone I meet is helping to make it better, so all suggestions and questions are welcome. I'll try to answer everything as best I can, even if the honest answer is sometimes "I actually don't know." I started out thinking I knew where it was going, but now it's alive and it's gotten away from me and I'm just along for the ride, drawing and finishing pages as fast as I can to keep up! Thank you all for coming along with me.
